The Itinerant Spirits Music Stage

Knock off work early and take part in what is going to be the ultimate Fri-yay night. Ease into it with Soulty and the pirate punk of Trapezoid, then dance the twilight away with No Plans, The Settlement and Orange Whip. On the Saturday and Sunday the Itinerant Spirits music stage will feature everything from an African drumming group to music inspired by tropical jungles, late night discos and 1960s chic. It’s going to be epic!

FRIDAY 3 MAY (4pm – 8.30pm)

SOULTY

Kickstarting Feel-Good Friday is Hamilton artist, Soulty. With a folk/pop sound influenced by gospel, jazz, blues, and rock, Soulty’s deep spirituality re-enforces messages of hope, unconditional love and forgiveness. These are messages we can all get behind.

TRAPEZOID

Four dudes rocking out from four different angles, all with a parallel perspective… that’s Trapezoid. Featuring Beau Ladlow on vocals, Damian Ballenger on bass, James McMurtrie on drums, and Dave Patterson on guitar, Trapezoid formed in 2019 to bring us a unique blend of Pirate Punk, Psych Rock, and Organic Rock.

Led by the enigmatic singer Calvano, this alternative folk rock band explores themes of love, loss, and resilience with their dark and catchy songs. Blending gritty guitars, soaring fiddles, and experimental rhythms, The Settlement have been captivating GGE audiences for years.

ORANGE WHIP

Guess who’s back to rock the stage at GGE? None other than the incredible Orange Whip! It’s been a while since we felt their funky vibes, but they’re making their triumphant return for Feel-Good Friday. So get ready to go nuts to the sounds of funk, rock, soul, and blues. And Jase … we hope you’re still up for some speaker hopping mayhem!

Meet Danika, whose music blends Folk, Soul, and Jazz influences. Growing up across coastal and rural landscapes in northern NSW, music has been a constant in her life. Danika’s cyclical fingerpicking style and warm electric guitar tones, paired with her otherworldly vocals and candid lyrics, create a full sound. Catch her opening the festival on Saturday!

THE LITTLE LORD STREET BAND

Discover the latest from Perth’s beloved alt-country/folk outfit, The Little Lord Street Band, with their set to feature new album “Time And Place.” Reflecting on a decade of music-making and a year of isolation, this album is a journey through nostalgia and longing, capturing the essence of life’s changes and challenges. WELCOME TO COUNTRY

Head to the music stage for the 31st official festival opening, a Welcome to Country and the Gariwerd Aboriginal Dance Group who blend contemporary and traditional dance styles with the telling of stories almost as old as time itself.

ONE SPIRIT AFRICA

Enjoy the electrifying rhythms of ‘One Spirit Africa’ – an Afro-Fusion Band based in Melbourne, with true Ghanaian Roots. Led by Fred Nii Addo, a master drummer and award-winning musician, the band blends powerful traditional sounds with modern Afro-Beats, creating a mesmerising musical experience. With 21 albums, their performance promises massive energy, vibrant costumes, and a dance vibe like no other.

WIRREANDA WEDDING

Head to the Itinerant Spirits stage to catch the lucky winners of Wirreanda Farm’s wedding competition and see them get married by Marry Me Becky B in front of thousands! The prize also included flowers by Three Blooms Florist and photos from One Day Collective. Wirreanda Farm’s tiny chapel, Miss Mabel, is on site for the festival, so go check it out if your planning a wedding, or you can also renew your vowels at the festival!

BONES AND JONES

Exciting news for music fans! Bones And Jones, a band formed in high school in Geelong, will be playing at GGE. Drawing inspiration from their surroundings and decade-long friendships, their blend of country-tinged vintage rock with a contemporary edge has earned them praise from NME, The Guardian, Triple J, and nominations for the Australian Music Prize and Victorian Music Awards. Fresh from a US tour, don’t miss them on Saturday!

SMOKE STACK RHINO

Hailed as ‘Australia’s most exciting up-and-coming blues and roots rockers’ by Beat Mag, catch Smoke Stack Rhino at GGE! Their high-energy live show is a must-see, featuring singer-guitarist Ash King’s earthy vocals reaching from deep baritone low notes to high screams, drummer Matt Berg, who pushes the band forward from behind the kit and bassist Shane Andison stays rock solid, holding the whole thing together with an infectious, catchy groove.

THE NARRATIVES

Get ready to elevate your Saturday afternoon with Gareth Leach & The Narratives of Hope! Gareth, the master of hard-hitting country sounds, is bringing his Golden Guitar-nominated sound to the stage. With hits like “Rains It Pours” and “On The Road Again,” this performance guarantees the perfect blend of heartfelt vibes and southern rock grit. Plus, to cap off the Saturday, The Narratives of Hope will be joined by guest singer, Josh McDonald, delivering all your favourite covers.

RUBY AND LORETTA

Experience the mesmerising blend of Loretta Miller and Ruby Jones, two talents from Melbourne’s vibrant music scene. Loretta’s powerful vocals and Ruby’s haunting melodies create a unique musical experience that transcends genres. Their recent recorded duet, “Eighteen,” is a testament to their musical prowess and promises a performance that will captivate and enchant. BEL KIL

Discover Bel Kil, the Australian singer-songwriter, producer, and engineer, whose music blends catchy vocals with cinematic production. Growing up on a farm in the Northern Grampians, music was always a part of Bel’s life, but it wasn’t until a major bike accident that she found the confidence to pursue it as a career.
