There is nothing like a band that gets you moving, and 19-Twenty is guaranteed to do just that.
Gracing Grampians Grape Escape patrons as part of Saturday’s musical line-up, this band is high-energy and all party, an infectious riff and groove-based rockin’-roots band.
When asked to describe their band in three words, loud, raucous and party comes to the trio’s minds.
The band members, made up of Kane Dennelly on vocals and guitars, producer and percussionist Syd Green and John Gwilliam on double bass, are all looking forward to coming down from their base at Jervis Bay, on the south coast of NSW to the Grampians Grape Escape stage.
“It’s a magical place,” Kane says.
The friends think back fondly to when they formed, describing their band’s coming together through “thievery”.
“I saw Syd and John in other bands and poached them,” Kane laughs.
It ended up being the perfect combination, because ever since then, the band has been making magic.
The band jokes they are busking to get enough money to replace their van’s windscreen wipers, however, these guys are serious hard-workers. The trio tours non-stop, constantly on the road or in the sky.
19-Twenty has toured Australia seven times and performed gigs throughout Europe including in Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany.
Playing their own brand of blues, the band cites Paul Simon, Gary Clark Jnr and Jeff Lang as their influences.
These guys are happy to perform anywhere and everywhere, living for the energy of a live crowd and picking up new fans wherever they go. This will be one you cannot miss.
