In 1879, the Queenscliff Brewhouse formerly the Palace Hotel and The Esplanade Hotel, was established and the dry cellar was constructed for the storage of rums and whiskies directly off-loaded from ships in barrels. This former dry cellar has now been converted and reinvigorated as the Queenscliff Distillery making a return to its former glory days of spirit storage. The Queenscliff Distillery is a full mash distillery producing from a 600-litre handcrafted copper pot.
The Queenscliff Distillery has launched its first range of Gin all infused with coastal botanicals to reflect their nautical and unique coastal location. The first range of gins include a classic dry of 42% ABV, a navy strength 57% ABV and a unique citrus gin at 42% ABV.
Queenscliff Distillery is also in full production of whiskies and rums all currently being aged in oak barrels.
Queenscliff Distillery and cellar door is located at the Queenscliff Brewhouse and open 7 days a week with cellar door for tasting and retail sales.
